Captive animals essay

The captivity of wild animals has been a highly debated topic for many years. Zoos and aquariums are huge attractions and can be found all over the world. Movies such as Black Fish and Unlocking the Cage showcase some of the troubling behaviors animals in captivity portray.

In captivity animals do not lose their wild instincts. They can be extremely unpredictable, and if provoked they can cause severe harm to people. Some wild animals, such as reptiles and hedgehogs can actually carry bacteria called salmonella, which is very easily transmitted to humans.

Animals that live under human care are in captivity. Captivity is the keeping of either domesticated animals or wild animals. There are multiple arenas that teach people that it is acceptable to interfere with animals and keep them locked in captivity, where they are cramped, lonely, and far from their natural homes.

Dilemma of Animal Captivity Animal captivity is an extremely important, and often overlooked problem that we, as human beings, have placed on nature and the animals that live in the endangered environment.
